The legendary Ninja JaJaMaru series makes a grand comeback! Retro pixel art meets modern 3D graphics! Instant action meets loot and progression! And ancient ninjas and yokai meet… hip-hop?!
HIP-HOP BEATS ON YOKAI STREETS
When Princess Sakura is kidnapped, it’s up to JaJaMaru to save the day! But is this a straightforward rescue mission, or a yokai dance party?! Ninja JaJaMaru: Yokai Night Parade is a unique blend of retro pixel art, traditional Japanese yokai folklore, and hip-hop culture. This stylish fusion is filled to the brim with attitude and funky, danceable music. You’ve rarely experienced a game this groovy!
HACK ‘N’ SLASH FOR A PHAT STACK OF STASH
Ninja JaJaMaru: Yokai Night Parade is a thrilling hack-and-slash game with fast-paced gameplay, where you battle hordes of enemies across four main dungeons. (And yes, you can play them in any order you like!) As the opposition grows tougher, so do you. Throughout your adventure, you’ll discover treasure chests containing new gear that will make your character stronger. The game is also packed with endgame content, including ”My Room” customization, endgame dungeons, and a cool in-game Encyclopedia.
THE HISTORY, THE MYSTERY, THE JAJA MASTERY
The original Ninja JaJaMaru-kun was created by the well-known Japanese company Jaleco and was released for home consoles as early as 1985. That’s more than 40 years ago! Unlike Yokai Night Parade, this game was viewed directly from the side, which is hardly surprising since that was the standard perspective back then. The game was a hit, and many sequels followed over the decades. And apparently, this little pixelated ninja is still going strong!
THE POWER WITHIN YA, AWAKEN THE NINJA
What is it about ninjas that has made them such a widespread pop culture phenomenon? (Especially during the 1980s, the decade that gave birth to the Ninja JaJaMaru series.) Naturally, it’s a combination of many things. They possess an aura of mystery thanks to their disguises and secretive nature. Their aesthetic is undeniably awesome, with their dark clothing, masks, and specialized equipment. And they symbolize freedom, having historically operated outside of society’s traditional hierarchies. But above all, it comes down to their skills and the way they prioritize intelligence, planning, and stealth over brute force. There’s something incredibly appealing about that, isn’t there?
